Text and Phone Scams

Fraud Alert: Suspicious Text Messages and Phone Calls

We have been made aware of fraudulent text messages claiming to be from RNB State Bank or Front Range State Bank regarding unusual online banking activity. In some cases, customers have reported receiving a text message asking them to confirm whether they authorized online banking activity. After responding to the text message, the customer then receives a phone call from someone attempting to obtain online banking information.

Please remember: RNB State Bank and Front Range State Bank will never call, text, or email
you asking for your online banking username, password, secure access code, debit card PIN, or other login credentials. Fraudsters may use phone numbers, text messages, or caller ID information that appear legitimate. This is called spoofing, and it is designed to make the message or call look like it is coming from a trusted source.

If you receive a suspicious text message or phone call:

Do not provide your online banking username, password, secure access code, PIN, or other personal information.
Do not continue the conversation with the caller.
Do not click links or follow instructions from an unexpected text message.
Hang up and contact the bank directly using a phone number you know is legitimate.
If you believe you may have provided information to a fraudster, contact us immediately so we can help secure your account.

Your security is important to us. When in doubt, stop communication and contact the bank
directly.
