Federal Government Shutdown

Our Commitment During the Federal Government Shutdown

At RNB/Front Range State Bank, we remain committed to supporting our customers through times of uncertainty. If you are a federal employee, contractor, or anyone else impacted by the current government shutdown, please know we are here to help.

How We Can Support You:

  • We understand that a shutdown may raise concerns about federal paychecks, government contractor payments, federal benefits, the National Flood Insurance Program, and other government-related programs. If you are affected, we encourage you to reach out to us right away so we can discuss your situation and explore available options, which may include fee waivers, payment extensions, or other accommodations.
  • If you have questions about how the shutdown may affect the broader economy and markets, our team is available to assist you.
  • Just as we supported our customers during the pandemic and past government shutdowns, we will continue to stand by you through these challenges.

Bank Operations and Your Deposits:

  • Our bank is open and fully operational. A federal government shutdown does not directly impact our day-to-day operations.
  • The banking system remains strong, and your deposits are safe. All FDIC-insured deposits are fully protected—no customer has ever lost a penny of insured funds in the FDIC’s 90-year history.

Potential Impacts on Lending and Insurance Programs:

  • Some federal programs that support lending—such as those through the Small Business Administration, Federal Housing Administration, and Department of Agriculture—may experience delays, as approvals from those agencies could be postponed during the shutdown.
  • Certain verification services, like IRS tax transcripts, may also be temporarily unavailable, which could slow mortgage loan approvals.
  • Loans requiring flood insurance can still close, even if the National Flood Insurance Program experiences a lapse, by following regulatory guidelines or obtaining private flood insurance. Existing NFIP policies will continue to pay claims, though payments may be delayed.

Our Key Message:
